What I love the most when visiting the Louvre’s sculpture collections is looking at the details. I have seen these statues dozens of times, and yet every time I will find some intricate new detail…
I like the Louvre most earliest in the morning, before the rooms fill up with the muffled chatter of hundreds of visitors. It’s then I can truly appreciate the emotions breaking free from marble, stone and clay. I can hear the laughter, the tears and the sorrow arise from each one of these timeless faces.
