A medieval castle in the Périgord Noir, the Château de Fénélon dates back to the 12th century, and was later modified in the 15th & 17th centuries. It's history is tied to the region, home to Cathars, passing hands from the French to the English... It was also the historical seat of the de Salignac de La Mothe-Fénelon family, whose most illustrous members François de Salignac de La Mothe-Fénelon, known as Fénelon was a famous writer and the tutor Louis XIV's grandsons in the late 17th century.
(I sadly only have photos of the exteriors, as they were forbidden inside, but it was sa truly glorious day, so I took my time looking all around :D)
